Best Time to Post on Each Platform in 2026 (YouTube, TikTok, Reels, Facebook)

By SocialGrovv Editorial · Published

As of 2026, the best posting windows are: YouTube long-form 2-4pm ET weekdays and 10am-12pm ET Saturdays; YouTube Shorts and TikTok 7-9pm ET weekdays; Instagram Reels 11am-1pm and 7-9pm ET; Facebook 7-9am and 12-2pm ET. These are starting points — after 30 days, your own analytics will override every generic chart on the internet.

Why generic 'best time' charts stop working after 30 days

Every 'best time to post' chart is really a weighted average across millions of accounts, most of which are not yours. Once your channel has 30 days of consistent posting, YouTube Studio, TikTok Studio, Meta Business Suite, and Facebook Insights show you the actual hours your audience is online — and those numbers should override any generic chart, including this one. The windows below are only the starting point until your own data replaces them.

YouTube long-form: 2-4pm ET on weekdays

Publishing long-form in the early US afternoon gives the algorithm 2-3 hours to test the video with your subscribers and adjacent audiences before the peak US evening viewing window (7-10pm ET). Videos that gain traction during that seeding window get pushed harder during peak. Saturdays 10am-12pm ET remain the single strongest window of the week for most faceless niches — publish your biggest video there.

YouTube Shorts and TikTok: evening entertainment window

Both platforms peak between 7-9pm ET weekdays because that is when US audiences scroll after work. Shorts and TikToks compete for the same attention, so publish to both inside the same hour to catch cross-platform momentum. On weekends, the peak shifts earlier to 11am-1pm ET as viewers scroll during lunch and lounging hours.

Instagram Reels: two peak windows, not one

Reels has a bimodal daily pattern in 2026: a lunchtime spike (11am-1pm ET) and an evening spike (7-9pm ET). If you publish one Reel per day, pick the window closest to your engagement history. If you publish two, hit both peaks. Instagram's audience overlaps heavily with Facebook's older users, so posting at the same time as Facebook (see below) also works if you cannot micro-schedule.

Facebook: reach older audiences during daytime hours

Facebook's active audience skews older and heavily uses the platform during daytime work hours. Peak windows in 2026 are 7-9am ET (morning coffee scroll) and 12-2pm ET (lunch break scroll). Video posts do better in those slots than in the late evening because that older audience is asleep by 10pm ET. This is the opposite of TikTok's rhythm, which is exactly why cross-posting matters.

Global audiences: post twice, not once

If your analytics show meaningful audiences in both North America and Europe, publish twice: once during the US evening window and once at roughly 7am ET (which is early afternoon in Europe). Doubling posting cadence is manageable when Shorts are cheap to produce; do not double your long-form cadence just for time zones — that dilutes your flagship. Repurpose the long-form as Shorts instead.

Let scheduling do the work

Manually posting at 7am, 12pm, 2pm, and 8pm every day is how creators burn out. SocialGrovv's content calendar and auto-publish let you queue a week of Shorts and one long-form at real peak times, then walk away. Combined with the multi-platform auto-post, one hour of scheduling on Sunday covers Monday through Sunday across YouTube, TikTok, Reels, and Facebook. That reclaimed time is what keeps you around long enough to actually see compounding.
